Supporting new eco group GO²

Eco group in Caistor

We’ve had lots of fun working with GO², a new group of children and parents at local primary and secondary schools. Their mission is to champion a greener footprint for Caistor, an initiative coordinated by teacher Nick McCann from Caistor Primary School.

It’s early days for the group, which started in January, but they’ve already looked at the link between food and climate change, responding to the challenge of eating their way through a fruit and vegetable alphabet! They have also taken on a plastic challenge, looking at how plastics can be separated and recycled.

As soon as our team heard about the ideas they had developed for the name and logo of their group, we offered our support. 35 visitors came to Systematic HQ on 12th February to evolve these concepts, also taking in a tour and participating in a branding workshop. We discussed what sustainability means to us and our clients before getting creative to bring together the many and varied ideas for the visual identity of the new eco-group.

The big reveal of the logo designed by Simone from of Creative Studio, happened just a few days later. The result, an inspired name that reflects the negative impacts of CO² that a greener approach can help to combat, whilst also reflecting the action this determined group is taking. The strapline ‘a greener footprint for Caistor’ and logo elements is a blend of several inspired ideas from the children.

The comment cards from our visitors added to the feel-good factor. Thank you, Paul, 49 ¾, who said that it was “A lovely insight into the background of a great company” and Aubrey, aged 6, who said he “loved it, 900%”. We’re delighted everyone enjoyed our fruit-packed cake and had a great time on location with us.
