As Systematic celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2025, we made time in our busy diaries for a team-building event with a difference, we went back to school… Gin School!

Proud of our shared heritage in the Lincolnshire Wolds, we partnered with the brilliant team at Louth Distillery, the creators of the iconic Pin Gin, for a truly spirited afternoon.

Our visit to the distillery gave us a hands-on experience of the art and science behind gin making. Following an inspiring talk about Louth Distillery’s entrepreneurial journey, and after a few expert tips and tasting samples, our team paired up to create bespoke gin blends.

With mini stills at the ready, we carefully selected and weighed botanicals to craft our own 70cl bottles. In total, eight unique blends were born, each reflecting the creativity and character of our people.

Then came the judging. Guided by professional distiller Tristan, our creations were put through their paces with plenty of swirling, sniffing, and sipping. One blend stood out from the rest – praised as “a pear drop in a glass”.

The winning recipe came from Account Manager Tracey and IT Director James, earning them a Hollywood-style handshake and top marks from the experts at Louth Distillery.

That award-winning blend has now been developed into a limited edition run of just 50 bottles, proudly named ‘The Perfect Pear’. It’s a playful nod to the partnerships we build with our clients and contacts – and a toast to shared success.
