Remembering Chris Robey

Update 26th September: There will be a Service of Thanksgiving for a life lived to the full on Friday 7th October 2022 at 2pm. It will take place at Grimsby Minster, St James’ Square, Great Grimsby, DN31 1EP. Chris was a vibrant, colourful person, so the family requested that those attending the service wear a splash of yellow. Donations to the following charities would gratefully be received, in Chris’ memory; The Samaritans, Mind or Caistor Lions.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the news of the sudden passing of Chris Robey on Friday 16th September 2022.

Chris was the Managing Director of Systematic, growing our family business with the greatest care and commitment, following in the footsteps of our founder, Nick Robey. He joined the business in 1998, following a legal career at Wilkin Chapman LLP. There was so much more to Chris, as he generously and graciously championed many local causes. At the centre of his world were his family.

In 2011 Chris established Caistor Running Club, to help the community ‘run for fun’ and for free. The club now has more than 200 members and an online community of 1,400 people. In 2016 Chris founded Caistor Cares, now the registered charity of Lincolnshire Cares, reducing the social isolation of older people with a free befriending service. Chris had been a School Governor, and a First Responder for 19 years, an advocate of too many projects and charities for us to note them all. His ethos of making a positive difference is something that will always be a foundation stone of Systematic.

Our team will miss Chris’ caring nature, his meticulous attention to detail and keen eye on the data behind how Systematic has grown and flourished over the many years that it has been under his stewardship, alongside his wife and Director, Sharon Robey.

Chris publicly and proudly said that he was surrounded by a committed, knowledgeable team who care deeply about giving attentive, professional service. Our devasted team will sustain that commitment in Chris’ honour.

Should our focus or availability be impacted by this tragic news, we will of course let you know. In the meantime, we remind you to seize each day, don’t wait until tomorrow to tell your loved ones how much you love them. If today feels too hard, for whatever reason, reach out to someone, you will not be the first or last person to feel the way that you do.

Rest in peace Chris, your legacy will live on in so many ways.
