Digital Designer Vacancy – rolling recruitment process

Hours – Full time, 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, an application for part-time hours would be considered 

Salary band£20,500 to £27,500 p.a. pro rata, with the potential for profit-related bonuses 

Location – Based at Systematic HQ, LN7 6QA with the potential for hybrid working from home for up 3 days a week

Could you be the next Digital Designer in our team?

Read on if you are a confident 2D animator, illustrator and creator of motion graphics, ready to apply your digital design skills to the creative campaigns of leading UK businesses. Systematic’s clients rely on our integrated design, print, mailing and marketing support to win business and do business.  

You will have an immediate peer group with our Studio of two Graphic Designers and our Digital & IT Manager, whilst being welcomed into a wider team of 17 colleagues, who collaborate on a varied portfolio of creative projects.  

The role can be part-time or full-time (Monday to Friday, core business hours are 8.30am – 5pm). It comes with flexibility, a competitive salary and a wide range of benefits.  

Your creativity will be a perfect fit for our team if you: 

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in animation, graphic design or a related creative discipline 
  • Have a digital portfolio that showcases your creative skills in different visual styles and across the Adobe Suite 
  • Have an interest in the broad spectrum of graphic design, such as design for print. Your existing skills and enthusiasm to learn more will bolster capacity within the many and varied projects that our Studio lead 
  • Identify yourself as a team player, supporting your colleagues to deliver projects on time and to consistently high standards of accuracy and creativity
  • Apply project management methodologies, whilst being organised, prioritising and multitasking 
  • Have literacy and numeracy skills that support the accuracy and attentiveness which underpin our work, typically demonstrated by GCSE grades of C or above, or equivalent 
  • Are a conceptual thinker, with the ability to articulate your ideas to your team and clients alike 
  • Relish the opportunity to take a brief then evolve, refine and pitch it, for our clients and Systematic’s own marketing projects 
  • Can give and receive constructive, respectful criticism 
  • Enjoy the opportunity to engage with a business audience, confidently communicating over the phone, email and in person 
  • Are excited and intrigued by new ideas and digital technology, keeping a keen eye on the latest trends and tools 
  • Commit to continuous professional development, keeping up to date with the latest trends and tools related to your specialism 
  • Take ownership of targets and are self-motivated in achieving them 
  • Are looking for a long-term career where excellent performance is valued and rewarded. 

Skills that are desirable, yet not essential include: 

  • Having a good eye for photography to support client and in-house requirements 
  • Knowledge of UX / UI design, web design and prototyping 
  • An insight into digital marketing tactics
